Born on November 3, 1987, Colin Rand Kaepernick is an American football quarterback and an American civil rights activist who is a free agent. He played for six seasons in the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). He is also best known political activist for kneeling during the national anthem as a protest to witness the police brutality and racial inequality in the United States.
Kaepernick played college football at the University of Nevada, where he was twice named the offensive player of the year at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). He became the only player in NCAA Division I FBS history to collect 10,000 overtaking fields and 4,000 rushing yards in his career. Upon graduation, he was selected by 49er in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Kaepernick began his professional football career as a backup for Alex Smith, and became a 49ers novice in mid-2012 when Smith suffered a concussion. He then remained the team’s starting defender for the rest of the season and led the team to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994. Early life
Colin Rand Kaepernick was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
