Quick Mesh Netting Fabric Repair At Home

 

Mesh netting is the fabric used for camping equipment and gear and in many backpacks, totes and related items where fabric requires air dry or quick breathing. This mesh netting is best used for protecting things from people and insects.

The small rips and holes that measure 3 inches in diameter, width or length can quickly be repaired now at home. All you need is an adhesive mesh netting patch or a tape.

On the other hand, the large holes that measure around 3 to 12 inches need proper sewing and then application of a tape or an adhesive mesh netting patch for additional strength.

 

Quick steps for mesh netting fabric for small repairs

 

Step 1

Clean the edges of your hole and rip the same with a cotton pad or ball which should be dipped in alcohol. Let this alcohol dry for some time.

 

Step 2

Make a cutting of at least 2 adhesive mesh netting patch or you can choose mesh pieces netting tip. The size should be kept around ¼ inch longer and wider than your mesh hole. You can either cut the patches in rectangular shape or circular form.

Gently remove the plastic backing or paper from one of your patches.

 

Step 3

Behind the mesh hole, place your hand or go for any flat item like a wood board, folder or a book. Gently press one of the patches over the damaged hole. Rub it hard for creating a strong bond between your mesh netting and adhesive.

 

Step 4

Now it turns to repair the opposite side of your mesh hole. Easily place your hand or any flat object against your newly repaired mesh holes side. Remove the paper from your other adhesive patch. Press the patch over the opposite side of your hole and press it with gentle hands.

You can also rub it with soft hands for letting your patch stay in position for a longer time and to allow your adhesive tape or patch to stay at its place.

 

Quick steps for mesh netting fabric for large repairs

 

Step 1

Easily clean the edges of your mesh hole and take some alcohol in a cotton pad and apply it on the holes. Let the alcohol dry for some time.

 

Step 2

For large repairs, you need a nylon thread and a sewing needle. You need a nylon thread if your fabric is nylon and take polyester thread if your netting is polyester. Then knot the end of your thread’s end carefully.

 

Step 3

Hold the edges of your hole in one place together. Sew the edges tightly.

 

Step 4

Cut two adhesive mesh netting patch and this cut should be at least one-inch longer and wider than the hole.

 

Step 5

Place a flat object against the sewn hole. Remove the paper from your adhesive patch. Press your adhesive tape gently towards your repaired hole. Put a gentle pressure with your hands on the adhesive patch so that it gets placed on the mesh netting for long.
