What Are The Best Ways To Get Gum Off Shoes?

Gum can stick to the outer sole of your shoes, and it can destroy your most expensive pair of shoes. Do you have a pair of shoe with gum stick at the bottom? Do you have a bad habit of spitting gum out anywhere? Well, if yes then probably you can experience that unwanted situation. Trust me bubble gum can ruin your $$$ shoes in a blink of an eye.

So today we are here with the best ways to get gum off shoes. Are you ready? Let’s started!

  • Peanut Butter:

The first thing is peanut butter. You can use it to remove gum. Use a butter knife to rub a glob of peanut butter over the gum at the bottom. After 10-15 minutes, the gum starts to soften and would be soft after some time. However, once it happens, just gently scrape it off, and clean your shoes with soap and water to remove peanut butter.

  • WD-40 Or Compressed Air:

You can use WD-40 to save your sneaker life. Just spray it directly on the gum until it gets harden, and then gently scrape off it with a butter knife. You can also use a canister of compressed air to remove gum. The reason is it contains freezing cold air which can harden the gum, and thus making it quite easier to remove.

  • Freezer:

You can use the freezer option as well. Just take the plastic bag and stick your shoes to it to let the gum pressed tightly against plastic. After that, let it harden in the freezer for almost an hour or two.

When you get the bag out, then simply pull the plastic back from your shoe, and you’ll see gum will also peel off with plastic. However, if there’s still gum leftovers, simply pick it with a butter knife or toothpick.

  • Ice Cube:

You can also use ice cube over the gum to soften it. Just rub ice over the surface for 10-20 minutes. The gum should be putty-like.
